Board of directors

Dennis Monner (CEO)
Mr Dennis Monner is a Member of the Board (CEO) of gateProtect AG since 2002, Germany. In 1992 he completed a management trainee programme at one of Europe's largest brokers for industrial insurance.

In 1995 he was appointed to the board of a foreign marketing company - a joint venture launched by Provinzial Versicherung and Martens & Prahl Holding - where he was responsible for sales. On the basis of his success in restructuring that company's sales channel, Mr Monner was appointed CEO in 1997.

In mid-1999 he took on a position as managing director in the software industry, where he was in charge of sales and finance for the next three years.

Since 2002 Mr. Monner manages gateProtect in his role of CEO.

 

Dr. Reinhard Festag (Head of Finance)
Dr. Reinhard Festag heads the finance department of gateProtect AG.  He holds a Masters degree and a PhD in physics. He finished his academic work on a NASA project in the States. His business career started as management consultant with McKinsey where Dr. Festag worked on strategy and operational improvements for clients in the high tech, telecom and IT industry. He left McKinsey as an Associate Principal and joined the IT service division of Siemens (SIS). There he did hold several management positions. His responsibilities ranged up to 500 Mio. Euro p.a. order entry as Commercial Head of Outsourcing Sales.

To manage the ongoing growth of gateProtect,  Dr. Festag took over responsibility for the finance area in 2009.



Dieter Balsen (Chief of Backend Development)
Mr. Dieter Balsen is Head of the backend development at gateProtect Aktiengesellschaft Germany.
In 1994 he successfully completed his degree in Information Technology at the Technical University Carolo-Wilhelmina in Braunschweig. After the studies he was in charge of developing a software application that is installed in the largest medical lab of Northern Germany to this day.

Since 2001 Mr. Balsen was engaged as a software development consultant. Within that scope he contributed on several large-scale projects for partly well-known customers.

Since 2004 Mr. Balsen manages the department of firewall development (Backend) at gateProtect.


 
Christo Ivanov (Chief of eGUI Development)
Mr. Christo Ivanov is Head of the eGUI development at gateProtect Aktiengesellschaft Germany.
In 1999 he successfully completed his degree in Applied Physics at the Sofia University in Bulgaria. During his studies and work for his degree dissertation Mr. Ivanov had a couple of publications in well-known professional journals in the USA.

From the end of 1999 Mr. Ivanov worked in the planning department at the University of Hamburg. There he was responsible for the statistics software. From 2000 to the beginning of 2004 Mr. Ivanov was employed as software developer at NetNovo in Hamburg. During this time he primarily worked at large-scaled projects for the Commerzbank group.

In April 2004 Mr. Ivanov started at gateProtect Aktiengesellschaft Germany, as software developer. At the end of 2004 Mr. Ivanov became Chief of the eGUI department.



Supervisory board

Dr. Peter Smeets (Chairman)
Dr. Peter Smeets is chief of the german branch office of the famous international chamber "Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP". Befor he was the member of the Media and the Asset Finance Group of the chamber Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Frankfurt. There he was responsible for local infrastructure projects at us-lease-factorings and for aircraft, trains and film at german leveraged lease-factorings. The hole volume of his factoring-operations add up to 6,5 Mrd. euro.

Since 2000, next to practise law Dr. Peter Smeets is managing director and shareholder of the Constantin + Bastian Venture Capital GmbH, which is specialized in capital investment at primarily technology companies. In this connection he cares for large venture capital factorings in supervisory board function.


   

Jörn Engelmann
After international missions in Singapore and New York as well as 1991 a well three-year activity followed advisory activities for the management consultation Roland Berger & partner as an executive committee assistant in the center of the Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt. According to leading functions in the firm customer business of the bank it was responsible from 2000 to in the middle of 2004 in the center for the product management of the businessccustomer credit Portfolios in Germany.

Since 2004 Mr. Jörn Engelmann is responsible for the credit transaction of corportate clients at the famous private bank "Berenberg" in Hamburg

 

   

Wolfgang Reinhardt
Wolfgang Reinhardt is member of the executive committee of the acoreus AG. Acoreus AG is busy a prominent German offerer by Business Process outsourcing services for the telecommunications industry and other industries and over 250 coworkers at the locations Duesseldorf, Neuss and Münster.
The engeneering graduate is responsible for the ranges software development and IT-companies in the year 2000 of the Düsseldorfer of company along-created by him.

After the study of electro-technology and ergonomics in Bochum and Glasgow he was active starting from 1993 as senior advisors with Andersen one Consulting (today Accenture) in Germany and in the USA and advised customers from telecommunications and High Tech industry.
